– Playlist mix of 12 videos — Feb. 2015 It was a 90th birthday to remember for iconic film and stage actor Hal Holbrook Tuesday as he entertained a nearly sold-out audience at the Bushnell with his award-winning “Mark Twain Tonight!” show, gathering up gifts and good wishes including proclamations, flowers and three birthday cakes.
“You know I was nervous right before I went out on stage,” said Holbrook, who, for nearly two hours entertained the audience with the signature musings of the famed author and humorist who once lived in Hartford. “I was very scared,” he told those who attended a post-show reception for him at the theater. “But then I walked out on stage and the welcome I received well, it put iron in me,” he said. “Thank you all so much.”
